Deep Retrofit/Conversion Energy Performance Assessment
The Shuffle, located at 65 King Street in Dartmouth, is a deep retrofit and conversion project, converting an existing hotel building to micro-apartments. The retrofit included energy conservation measures in all building systems, including significant envelope and mechanical upgrades. Integral provided energy modelling to determine the total energy and greenhouse gas savings achieved in the upgrade.
Design Energy Performance Assessment
The Elevation, located at 5858 Macara Street in Halifax, is a new apartment building featuring a closed-loop vertical geothermal borehole field for heating and cooling, with the field installed directly underneath the building’s foundation; it is the first project of its type in Nova Scotia, and one of the most efficient high rise apartment buildings in the region. Integral provided design energy performance assessment for the project, including assessing the geothermal field performance and optimizing other design components.
Design Energy Performance & NECB Compliance
The Press Block is a new development located at 1730 Granville Street in Halifax. The development was designed to incorporate two heritage properties, yielding a new mixed-use building while maintaining the historic facades. The design features various energy-efficiency measures including VRF heating and cooling and optimized envelope. Integral provided design energy performance assessment and NECB compliance modelling for the project.
Design Energy Performance & NECB Compliance
6324 Quinpool is a new mixed-use building in Halifax. The design had set ambitious energy performance targets, which were met and exceeded by using a collaborative approach throughout the design. Integral provided design energy performance assessment, including envelope design optimization and assessment of innovative mechanical equipment. Integral also conducted NECB compliance energy modelling for the project.
Deep Energy Retrofit Assessment
Quinpool Tower is an existing apartment building in Halifax, originally constructed in 1980. The building owners are pursuing carbon reduction measures for the building, and engaged Integral to conduct an energy performance assessment of various scenarios. A series of energy conservation measures were analyzed using calibrated energy modelling, to determine the total energy and carbon reduction potential. Recommended measures included energy recovery, envelope improvements, and air-to-water heat pumps.
Deep Retrofit/Conversion Energy Performance Assessment
Agency Art Lofts, located at 1660 Hollis Street in Halifax, is a deep retrofit and conversion project, converting an existing 13-story office tower to apartments. The retrofit included energy conservation measures in all building systems, including significant envelope and mechanical upgrades. Integral provided energy auditing and calibrated energy modelling to determine the total energy and greenhouse gas savings achieved in the upgrade. The project is the first deep retrofit conversion to receive support from the Canada Infrastructure Bank’s Green Infrastructure Program.
Design Energy Performance
409 and 499 Wilkinson are new warehouse buildings in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Both buildings were designed to achieve the CaGBC’s Zero Carbon Buildings Design standard, which establishes stringent requirements for carbon performance. The buildings also achieve near net-zero energy performance using on-site solar PV generation. Integral provided design energy performance assessment for the projects, in support of the Zero Carbon applications.
Design Energy Performance
Richmond Yards is a new development located at Almon and Robie Streets in Halifax, consisting of over 600 apartment units as well as commercial and retail space. Integral provided design energy performance assessment for the project, supporting the project’s ambitious energy performance targets. Energy analyses were conducted in several phases to align with the project’s development schedule. All phases met and exceeded the design energy efficiency targets.
Design Energy Performance and NECB Compliance
King’s Wharf is a development in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia consisting of several high-rise apartment buildings. The most recent buildings were designed for optimized energy-efficiency, and feature high-performance mechanical systems. Integral provided design energy performance assessment for two recent buildings (E and J), as well as NECB compliance energy modelling.
